Swifts & Bobbin Winders
These are the original Swedish swifts, often copied, but there is no match to these authentic swifts.

Umbrella Swifts are made from birch, in two sizes, the regular size which holds skeins up to 72" around, and the large swift which holds skeins up to 100" around. They are constructed and finished to get the most appropriate surface for the yarn.
These are the original Swedish made swifts and not an imitation. Look for Sweden on the logo.
You can clamp these swifts to stand vertically, as shown. Or you can mount them horizontally which can make for easier un-winding. Use the swift in conjunction with the ball winder as seen here.
If you break an umbrella arm or perhaps the wooden screws, we often can repair and replace the parts.
Bobbin Winders
Made in Sweden for over 100 years. Two styles are available.

Winders come with either the fine (thin) spindle or the thicker spindle which is made for the larger American bobbins. The fine spindle is more versatile as you can also wind quills as well as bobbins. Just put a cardboard quill on the spindle and then put the larger bobbin on top of the quill. It usually is a perfect fit. If you want to weave with fine threads, the thinner shuttles, thinner quills and fine spindle bobbin winder will be better. And you can wind more thread on the cardboard quills.
These winders have oiling points to make them last and insure easy functioning. The winders should always be cranked or turned clockwise to avoid damage to the main brass gear.
Ball winders or Wool Winders
We also stock the ball winders shown above with the swift. These are made in Japan and function well.
